Ewok Outlaw Tech

Background Born on a slave freighter bound for Mos Eisley, Coopee was removed from his parents shortly after he was born, as was customary at the time for Ewok slave-children. He was infinitely curious about all things technological from a very early age. As young as age 5 he could be found in his free time tinkering with droids (which earned him severe beatings from the slave masters), and also enjoyed tinkering with the ships vending machines, learning how to earn free credits. As he grew older, he learned how to hide his illegal activities, and began working in earnest, learning how the different systems worked together and was occasionally allowed to utilize his skills on an official basis, installing exploding collars on slaves so that they would not be able to escape. He was, of course, never allowed to remove them (for fear that he may learn the secret).

One day, after he turned 17, he was sold to a powerful illegal arms trader on Mos Eisley, as a companion and body guard for his young daughter. The man trained him in the ways of close-quarters combat, and limited blaster training. The young Ewok went along with the man's wishes hoping to one day escape from the life of slavery so that he could help his people, who he had learned over his stay on the slave trader, were being slowly killed from some unknown entity on Endor.

After a couple of years had passed, the man removed Coopee from service to his daughter and put him to more interesting tasks. Coopee had been strengthened by his regular beatings aboard the freighter and had gained much technical skill as well as stealth to avoid the beatings, so the Smuggler had him deliver and receive the arms so as to avoid being caught in the act. Coopee did very well at this as he was able to circumvent cameras, and get through doors that were normally inaccessible. One day the man said to Coopee that he had earned his freedom, but had one last job. It was a suicide mission into a Tusken camp. Apparently they had stolen an extremely large cache of weapons meant for his master, and Coopee was supposed to retrieve as much of the cache as possible. Coopee was given extensive firearm training in preparation for this mission and was issued a personal blaster as well as some custom-made body armor (think Chewbacca 4' tall and a little bit shorter hair). It was during this mission, Coopee decided he would make his escape. He believed he had acquired enough knowledge about the exploding collar around his neck that he could safely remove it. As he set off on his mission, his master advised him if he was not back within 48 hours, his collar would be set off, whether he was successful or not. Coopee set off on his trek, knowing he would never see his master again. He made it as far as the outskirts of Mos Espa where he decided to remove his collar to avoid unnecessarily injuring anyone. He successfully removed his collar.

…and that's where his story ends, well, begins…

Physical Description: Coopee is a 1.22 meters tall, brown w/black tinge, Ewok. He wears a custom made black armor suit of some type of metal alloy that is resistant (not impervious) to blaster fire. He also has a blaster (both of which were stolen when he escaped his slave master). When he's not wearing that, he wears a shirt and shorts made of burgundy colored burlap, and shoes made of rubber salvaged from a defunct sandcrawler. His ears point up, but the left tip is cut off, a sign of slavery. He has piercing hazel eyes, which starkly contrast his brown and black coloring.

Personality: Coopee is very personable, although at the moment he is trying to keep a low profile to avoid his slave master. He is usually very talkative, and very curious.

Objective: To one day help his people and stop the random deaths he keeps hearing about.

Smell: Ewoks have a highly developed sense of smell, getting a +1D to their search skill when tracking by scent. This ability may not be improved.

Protectiveness: Most Human adults will feel unusually protective of Ewoks, wanting to protect then like young children. Because of this, Humans can also be very condescending to Ewoks. Ewoks, however, are mature and inquisitive - and usually tolerant of the Human attitude.
