Description:
The violent and ruthless culture of the Trandoshans (or T'doshok, as they call themselves) evolved on the planet of Trandosha.
While their society relies completely on its own for survival, and includes occupations such as engineers, teachers and even
farmers, the most important aspect of a Trandoshan's life is the Hunt.
From the moment they developed space travel, they have been known, feared and hated throughout the galaxy, for a Trandoshan sees
most species as inferior to their own, and therefore all is potential pray. They made their greatest enemies in the Wookiees,
whom they have been hunting and enslaving as soon as they found their home planet -Kashyyyk- to be only planets away from their
own.
Trandoshans are cold-blooded reptilians. Born hunters, they are built for speed, strength and survival. Their thick, scaly skin
provides a good natural defense. Dull colored for camouflage, they can be rusted green, a deep brown or mottled yellow. They shed
their skin once a year.
They also have an incredible regenerative ability, which allows them to recover from seemingly fatal injuries, and even lets them
regrow lost limbs. However, this ability wavers as they grow older, ultimately fading away when they reach middle age.
Sharp retractable claws make them very dangerous in a battle, but render them a bit clumsy in other activities, such as holding
and handling tools. The soles of their feet are very thick, and almost completely insensitive to even the most extreme
temperatures. They have two rows of sharp, small teeth, with the ability to regrow lost ones. Their incredibly sharp eyesight
can see into the infrared. Eye color is mostly red or orange.
Status is a very important thing to a Trandoshan. Above all, they worship a female goddess who they referr to as the Score Keeper.
They believe this deity awards them 'Jagannath points' based on their hunts, and most work tirelessly throughout their lives to
accumulate them. These points determine status, possible mates, and ultimately, their position in the afterlife.
They are a tough, persistant and unpredictable species. They posess an almost eiry calm, even in the face of almost certain death.
Very independent, they rarely form long lasting bonds such as friendship with anyone, not even amongst their own species.
Relationship between male and female last no longer then the mating itself, and the female watches over the eggs until they hatch.
The firstborn male will then ruthlessly await and eat his brothers as they emerge from their eggs. He will always keep these tiny
bones as trophies of his first kills.
Trandoshans also tend to uphold the tradition of 'recycling' their older generation once they have proven weak and/or useless.
Special Abilities:
Vision: Trandoshans vision includes the ability to see in the infrared spectrum. They can
see in darkness provided there are heat sources.
Clumsy: Trandoshans have poor manual dexterity. They have considerable difficulty performing
actions that require precise finger movement and they suffer a -2D penalty whenever they attempt an action of this kind. In
addition, they also have some difficulty using weaponry that requires a substantially smaller finger such as blaster and blaster
rifles; most weapons used by Trandoshans have had their finger guards removed or redesigned to allow for Trandoshan use.
Regeneration: Younger Trandoshans can regenerate lost limbs (fingers, arms, legs, and feet).
This ability disappears as the Trandoshan ages. Once per day, the Trandoshan must make a moderate Strength or Stamina roll.
Success means that the limb regenerates by ten percent. Failure indicates that the regeneration does not occur.
