Description:
The Merseian is a two-meter-tall entity of immense strength. Merseians are mammalian - they bear their young alive and suckle them
- but they very clearly resemble their reptillian ancestors. Their pale green skin is faintly scaled. The strong, heavy tail is
used both as a back prop when the Merseian is at rest and as a weapon in close-quarters fighting.
Habitat:
The Merseians breathe oxygen and must live on planets with planty of free water and moderate temperatures, resembling ther home
world.
Culture:
When the Merseians were first discovered by Core Traders, they occupied one planet, and had not developed space travel. Their
society was feudal, with a tradition of loyalty and responsibility between the nobility and their client families. After first
contact, the Merseians acquired interstellar spacecraft, and began building their own empire. They retained their class structure:
the Emperor is elected by a governing council of noble clan heads. The Merseians are militaristic, proud of displaying their
courage in battle. They have a tradition of independence that makes them impatient with bureaucracy.
Special Abilities:
Vision: Merseians can see infared radiation, giving them the ability to see in complete
darkness, provided there are heat differentials in the environment.
Radiation Resistance: Because of the proximity of their homeworld to its sun, the Merseian
have evolved a natural resistance to most forms of radiation. They receive a +2D bonus when defending against the effects of
radiation.
Natural Body Armor: The fine green scales of the Merseians act as armor, providing a +2D
bonus against physical attacks, and a +1D+2 bonus against energy attacks. Also, due to the reflective nature of the scales there
is a 15% chance per hit that the blast will be deflected safely away.
Tail: Can be used as a melee weapon at close range. Damage is Strength +1D if the barbs do
not hit and Strength +2D if they do. The chance to hit with the barbs is 1-4 on a D6 after a successful attack is made.

Brawling Combat: At the time of character creation only, for every 1D placed in this skill
they get to add 2D to it.
Melee Combat: At the time of character creation only, for every 1D placed in this skill
they get to add 2D to it.
Blaster: At the time of character creation only, for every 1D placed in this skill they

Story Factors:
Reputation: Merseians are reputed to be fierce warriors and great hunters, and they are
often feared because they can often take on more than one Wookiee at a time and win. Those who know of them usually steer clear
of them. Those who actually know about them don't worry as much, as they are not likely to attack a being at random. They are
smart enough to save their strength for the battlefield.
