Description:
The Fia (singular, Fian) are the species native to Galantos and adapted to the environment by building groundquake-proof buildings made of the rich ores and minerals mined on the planet. A peaceful species, the Fia communicate through expressive hand and arm gestures, and refer to the Koornacht Cluster as "The Multitude."

Special Abilities:
Injury Resistant: The Fia enjoy a higher resistance to injury and disease than other species, and this is reflected in a +2 pip bonus to all Strength checks that are made to resist damage or disease.
Surefooted: Because of their low center of gravity, Fia gain a +2D bonus to any skill or attribute checks that involve maintaining their balance or keeping their feet. They are also immune to motion sickness.

Galantos
Galantos is the second planet in the Utos system on the Widek Bypass, near the Koornacht Cluster. Its first contact with the galactic community was quite ancient, as at least one Fian served as a Jedi 500 years before the First Great Schism.

The planet's surface is covered in smooth, pale green gelatinous bodies with continental islands. During large storms, the surface of Galantos rolls and shifts. Because Galantos' crust is severed into drifting tectonic plates, the islands are wracked with regular seismic vibrations known as gelquakes. Like many other planets in the Farlax Sector, Galantos is rich with chromite deposits.

The gelatin is an organic substance which provides life-giving nutrients to all life on the planet, including the indigenous sentient Fia. To protect their cities, the Fia built reinforced structures and developed a transportation system built on balloons to avoid groundquake-sensitive roads. Despite their ingenuity, the Fia prefer the gelatin and only took to the landmasses to interact with outsiders.

Most non-Fia live in the capital city of Gal'fian'deprisi where the planet's major starport is located. It as there that the Black Hammer Pirates made their headquarters.
