Description:
The Dashade are tall, reptilian humanoids notable for their resistance to the powers of the Force. Though they were rendered nearly extinct during the Great Sith War, remnant populations are seen regularly for millennia, using their natural abilities to their advantage as elite assassins, mercenaries, or similar professions.

Biology and Appearance:
Dashade were tall reptilians with dark skin, lamprey-like mouths, and powerful claws. In addition to their natural Force- resistance, they were resistant to radiation. They also had an ability to dissipate heat which made them hard to detect using standard life-form sensors.

Society and Culture:
Thanks to their partial Force-immunity, Dashade warriors easily found employment as combat instructors for the Jedi and assassins for the Sith, though the Dashade's aggressive, might-makes-right culture caused most of them to favor the Sith.

Common Dashade Names:
Alaris Koth
Nos Kellex
Tel Sorath
Tessun Kel

History:
The Dashade homeworld, Urkupp, was destroyed when the Cron Drift supernova exploded during the Great Sith War, killing most of the Dashade. Thirty-six Dashade Shadow Killers, retainers of a Falleen royal house, were among the off-world survivors. In order to preserve these elite warriors, they were placed in cryogenic suspension, to be revived one at a time when needed for special assignments. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, only one known Dashade remained—Ket Maliss. Prince Xizor, a descendant of the royals who had passed the Dashade down over the generations, inherited this warrior and made him an assassin for Black Sun.

In addition to these preserved warriors, rumors of Dashade sightings continued sporadially over the millennia. For example, there was evidence that Dashade mercenaries participated in the Great Jedi Purge. Some have even theorized that Dashade colonies founded before Urkupp's destruction may have existed.

Special Abilities:
Heat Dissipation: Dashade can dissipate the heat that emanates from their bodies, making it difficult to detect them with equipment that tracks by heat. All checks made to detect a Dashade character who is consciously reducing his heat signature, using thermal or infrared equipment, are made at a -2D penalty.
Force Resistance: Dashade are resistant to Force powers that utilize the Alter skill. All Alter rolls made for Force powers directed at a Dashade character have their difficulties increased by +5. A Force-using Dashade character who attempts to use Alter-based Force powers adds +10 to the difficulties.

Story Factors:
Thought to Be Extinct: The Dashade's home world was destroyed, and many assume the race to be extinct.
